J.M. Canty cameras are patented systems designed to illuminate and view inside a pressure or process vessel through a single connection. There is no need for multiple vessel ports. Canty supplies an integrally mounted camera and lighting system (optional) in a connection as small as a 2” NPT. The industry standard video output can be displayed on a video monitor in the comforts of a control room, or recorded on any VCR. A standard video monitor or TV with video input may be used to display the image.

NUTSHE FILTER PAT CONTROL SYSTEMStop washing your product away!!! Canty offers a unique vision based approach for non-contact cake detection and level measurement designed for Nutsche Filters. Cake detection is the determination of the transition from liquid slurry to solids “cake”. It’s critical to determine this transition in a timely manner to avoid cracking in the cake layer. Cracks will cause inconsistent washes and lost product. CantyVision™ software performs cake detection with image analysis in real time, by identifying the transition and generating an output signal for control to produce a homogeneous product without washing it away (through 4-20mA, OPC Interface, Modbus, etc...). Simultaneously, level measurement can be performed with the same vision system and crystallizer efficiency can be calculated. Combine this with an in-line Canty Crystalscope™ for true size and shape of crystals as they grow in real time for total process control. Operators can view the process at all times for visual verification and results are archived for historical record. |
CENTRIFUGE CAMERA CONTROLThe Canty Camera / Light combination is tri-clamp® mounted on to the existing light or sight port of the centrifuge to allow continuous internal viewing from the control room. In the control room, the Vector™ image processing computer will analyze this view and provide a 4-20mA output of fill level, filtering level, and a separate cake (solids) detection signal. The level control allows for consistent batching to the centrifuge. The cake detection 4-20mA output signal provides for immediate detection of solids, which prevent the cake fromcracking. This means higher product yield due to fewer washes, and ultimately better product quality.

PHASE SPLITMonitor phase split in batch mode on organic droplets for increased product recovery. As the droplets appear the system warns of organic phase and the upcoming emulsion. The amount of early droplets and their retraction time will indicate the completeness of the separation. Once the split is identified and stopped, the operator has a visual verification from the video monitor. The color can then be analyzed to ensure there is no inversion.

The Canty Molten Glass Level System is a non contact approach which allows for visual verification. The complete Canty Vision System Consists of a Canty Vector System and Canty Cameras. The Canty Camera utilizes a high quality CCD or Ethernet camera and has a rugged industrial design which includes a Canty Fuseview threaded front cap. The Canty Vector System performs the analysis and can output a 4-20mA signal for full process control.
The Canty system consists of a high temperature Ethernet process camera and incorporates special software to reduce glare along with a unique orifice plate that eliminates any debris from adhering to the lens, offering a clear view of the molten level at all times. This new low cost, no-maintenance system replaces expensive traditional platinum dipper probe systems which tend to coat over in a matter of weeks as well as nuclear gauges and eliminates the need for stilling wells. Level measurements are made in real-time on a continuous basis, with a resolution of .002". Canty Vision Client Software utilizes image based technology to continually track the edge. A cross hair is used to continually indicate the position of the edge and a numerical output is given. What’s more, your results are visually verifiable on your local area network or localized computer! 4-20 mA current loop available.
Minimize trim loss – The Canty float glass system consists of a high temperature Ethernet process camera and incorporates special software to reduce glare along with a unique orifice plate that prevents debris from adhering to the lens, resulting in a clear view of the glass ribbon at all times. This system is a non-contact web width control system which positions Ethernet cameras over the two glass edges and provides continuous real time measurement of web width as glass enteRs the Lehr annealing chamber after exiting the furnace chamber. Width measurements are made in real-time on a continuous basis, with a resolution of .015"*. CantyVision™ Client Software utilizes image based technology to continually track the extreme edge of the glass ribbon and also the edge of the knurled region formed by the top roll machines used in the float bath furnace to shape and stabilize the glass ribbon. This machine has a rotating shaft with a knurl head on the end that stretches and pulls the glass ribbon through the tin bath to achieve the desired shape at the exit. Process efficiency is improved by making clear glass just wide enough to trim the knurl but no more. What’s more, the software provides a visual verification of the glass web on the facility local area network or localized computer. Control outputs available include 4-20mA current loop, as well as OPC & Modbus Interface.
Canty’s thermal vision system is quite similar to other radiative temperature methods, by measuring the energy produced by a process. The advancements in CCD cameras has allowed for the ability to measure wavelengths in both the visual range and near inferred range.
The Canty Vision System will monitor product temperature and kiln wall temperatures. The reference rod contains a heat source and a temperature control unit.
