Hydrocarbon liquids such as diesel & lube oil are usually considered non-hazardous. However, even if the liquid is below its flash point, a high pressure leak from a flange can cause an mist or cloud. Such a release can easily ignite on hot surfaces and as such can be classed as a lll (2) Hazardous, as defined in A1.3 – Energy Institute Model Code of Practice.
Our unique woven Teflon spray guard is porous and as such will cause the mist to coalesce back into a harmless liquid. (IP15, A1.1 ref Pressurised atomisation of high flash point liquids).
